As part of the GFT's Refugee Festival Scotland Programme, we were proud to join a special screening of Winners — a beautiful Iranian film chosen by members of our community through a consultation led by the GFT.
Before the film, our team member Roque spoke briefly about the work we do at CWIN to support migrants — including asylum seekers and refugees — with food, ESOL classes, wellbeing groups, and person-centred support. We’re so grateful to the GFT for involving our community from the start and for creating a space where stories from around the world can be seen and celebrated.
Many of our community members attended and loved seeing their language and culture on the big screen. They were later invited for a group discussion about the film — what it meant, what it reminded them of, and how it connected to their own experiences.
