11th February 2025 - Community Meal
Our Community Meal last Friday was busy busy, but not our busiest one yet. That was on 20th December 2024, when we wrapped up the year celebrating Christmas with over 108 families and distributing gifts to 235 children!
We had volunteers in Santa hats welcoming families, the buzz of children running around with their gifts, and tables full of delicious local and international food. The room was alive with chatter, laughter, and the warmth of people coming together to share a special moment.
A lot of hard work was put into this celebration from the entire CWIN team and our amazing volunteers -- a special shout out to our Santa Helpers (Shokhan, Rachel, Steely, Halyna, Marwa, Musa, John), our Community Meal volunteers and our Cooking team! Together, we managed to register families, sort, bundle and distribute gifts, and have some tasty food on a day that was filled with festive cheer and lots of Christmas spirit.

This celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Peter Vardy Foundation -- specially Shirley, Lissa, Isabel, and Lara -- who donated, wrapped, and delivered the gifts to CWIN. Our community meal is also proudly supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, made possible by National Lottery players.
