'New Life in Glasgow' Guidebook!

6th November 2025 - Organisational Development & Partnerships

We’re proud to share a new community resource created by Tram Ngo through a student placement that CWIN hosted last semester.

As part of her Master’s studies, Tram joined the CWIN community and worked alongside community members with lived experience of the asylum system to co-design a handbook for new asylum seekers — written by the community, for the community.

The handbook offers practical advice, emotional support, and local knowledge to help people find their footing in Glasgow. Through sections called Brain, Heart, Hands, and Feet, it explores everything from mindset and wellbeing to language, volunteering, and places in Glasgow where people can connect and thrive.

💬 “This small handbook is developed by our dedicated community members, who believe that sharing knowledge and kindness is a powerful way to help each other.”

You can now read or download the full handbook on our website under the Resources section.

A heartfelt thank you to Tram and to all the community members whose willingness to help, creativity, and resilience made this project possible!
