22nd January 2025 - Art Group
Weβre thrilled to invite you to the upcoming art exhibition, 'Home in Home', featuring work from members of our art group, who have been working with Dr. Yeonjoo Choo, a fine art lecturer from GSA, alongside artists Helen de Main and India Boxall.
'Home in Home' is the title of this community art project that unravels what home means to various Glasgow-based artists with different social and cultural backgrounds. By participating in a series of creative workshops since last September 2024, 11 local artists gathered and shared thoughts and experiences of making their own place called home. Many participating artists came to Glasgow as outsiders - foreigners, refugees, and asylum seekers - yet created a place called home here.
The series of workshops questioned and reflected on a universal theme of belonging, home, and individual histories through various artistic activities. As a result of those workshops, this exhibition presents the process and outcomes of ongoing conversations about what home means or should mean to us.
