Scottish Woodlands with CWIN Booklet!

29th May 2024

Between summer 2023 and spring 2024, CWIN had the wonderful opportunity to invite 105 community members to explore Scotland's beautiful woodlands, thanks to the support of Scottish Forestry and the Glasgow Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. Guided by our dedicated staff and sessional workers, we organized seven trips featuring a variety of activities including foraging, picnicking, treasure hunting, kayaking, archery, and more. We visited scenic locations such as Loch Ard, Galloway Forest, and Mugdock Park, sharing our love for the Scottish wilderness with participants from around the world.

In early 2024, we met with several participants to reflect on their experiences. Guided by Rosie Cunningham, they shared their favourite memories and created artworks inspired by the trips. These delightful creations were assembled into a booklet, beautifully designed by Rosie, which we are proud to share with everyone. The booklet has been translated into five languages by Mosleh Akhgar.

If you joined these activities, you can collect a printed copy of the booklet at our offices!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who collaborated on this project, including Laureen Walker, Florence Dioka, Roque Neto, Christina Kyriakidou, Mark Williams, Lauren Lochrie, Rosie Cunningham, and Mosleh Akhgar.

Stay tuned for more events like this in the near future!
