A message from Refuweegee offering support to anyone who needs it:
"You will be aware that Refuweegee is currently responding to the ongoing pandemic by providing packs of essential food, toiletries and entertainment to some of Glasgow’s most vulnerable people and families.
We wanted to update that we’ve now delivered over 650 packs for over 1400 people in the city.
Right now, we’re delivering packs within around two weeks of initial request. While we’d love to fulfil requests much faster than this, we are a team of four people. Please be assured that we are working as quickly as we can, but in order to comply with current social distancing measures put in place by the government, it is impossible for us to have more people in our donation space building the packs.
I have attached our flyer which outlines how to request a pack.
We kindly ask that all pack requests are submitted through our text system – it’s much easier for us to keep everything in the one place and helps us make sure no requests are missed! You can of course request a pack on behalf of anyone who may benefit and does not have access to a phone or if there is likely to be a language barrier.
If you feel a person/family is particularly vulnerable, you can highlight their request to us via e-mail to jenn@refuweegee.co.uk, telling us the person’s name and first line of address. We will then prioritise that request, but where possible it must be submitted through our text service first."
