12th June 2025 - Art Group, Community Meal
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Refugee Festival Scotland, and we’re proud to celebrate it with two special events at CWIN!
First, the CWIN Art Group led by Christina Kyriakidou has organised an art exhibition called "Collective Milestones" at Transmission Gallery. The show features a 10-metre collaborative painting and personal works by members of our community -- including asylum seekers and refugees -- highlighting creativity, resilience, and shared stories. We’re grateful for Transmission Gallery’s continued support, providing space, materials, and artist-led workshops!

Opening night: Friday, June 14 at 5 - 7PM - click here to book!
Exhibition continues June 15–19 (11AM–5PM), no booking needed.
📍Transmission Gallery, 28 King St, Glasgow G1 5QP
Second, we’ll also host our traditional community meal celebration at our centre, called "How Far We've Come". Expect a performance from Gies Piece, our Ukulele Group, along with some dancing led by Annexe Communities Circle Dancing group, and great food from around the world!
We will exhibit the "Collective Milestones" artwork as well, and you will have a chance to support our art group by purchasing your favourite pieces. The day ends with a bread-making session in Garnethill Park led by Jenny from GCFN. Tasty!
