73 Children Joined our Holiday Programme this Summer!

21st August 2025 - Children Holiday Programme

Over the school holidays, CWIN’s Summer Programme welcomed 73 children aged 5-18 for six weeks of fun, food, and friendship.

Led by Iffat Bhatti and supported by the 'Nourish The Nation Food and Activity Programme' fund administered by Foundation Scotland, we ran three afternoons a week of activities designed to keep children active, creative, connected, and fed!

From football with Glasgow Ansar FC to kayaking at Pinkston Watersports, fruit picking at Broadslap Farm, art and wood workshops, outdoor pizza-making, and trips to parks and museums (including meeting -- and petting -- Highland cows and calves), every week offered something new.

Children also made fruit sculptures, cheesecakes, savoury “wheels,” and veggie “cake” sandwiches — all while enjoying fresh wraps, pasta, pastries, and plenty of fruit for lunch.

Parents told us the programme was “...such a special experience – we discovered new places, joined fun and meaningful activities, and made lovely memories together. The meals and snacks you provided were such a big help…”

Another family said, “You filled their days with smiles and unforgettable moments.”

Thanks to our partners St Aloysius College -- who kindly donated outdoor space -- Glasgow Community Food Network, Glasgow School of Art, and the Wise Group, families were supported not only with activities and meals but also with transport and advice.

As with all CWIN activities, projects like this can't run without a team of wonderful volunteers, staff and sessional workers. Thank you everyone for helping us impact the lives of so many families this summer!
